ICT Marathon x Areo Physio 29th March
The ICT Marathon 2026, themed “Miles for Mindfulness: Pathway Towards Peace,” was organized by the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) in Mumbai as part of a broader effort to raise awareness around mental health. The event brought together runners of varying experience levels from seasoned marathoners to first-time participants united by a cause that reaches far beyond the finish line: encouraging open conversations about mental wellbeing and the role physical activity plays in supporting it.
Areo Physio partnered with the ICT Marathon to ensure runners had expert physiotherapy support at every stage of their race-day experience. In the lead-up to the event, our team provided pre-marathon guidance, helping participants prepare their bodies appropriately and reduce the risk of injury before they even reached the start line. This kind of preparation matters as much for a first-time runner managing nerves and unfamiliar strain as it does for an experienced marathoner pushing their pace.
On race day and in its aftermath, our physiotherapists focused on post-marathon recovery helping runners manage the fatigue, muscle tightness, and general wear that come with long-distance running. Just as importantly, our team was on hand for the on-site management of injuries, sprains, and strains, addressing issues in real time so runners could recover safely rather than pushing through pain unsupported.
Being part of an event rooted in mental health awareness added a layer of meaning to our involvement. Physical recovery and mental wellbeing are deeply connected, and supporting runners’ bodies through the demands of a marathon is, in its own way, a contribution to the same larger goal the event stood for peace of mind, achieved one mile at a time.
